There are a lot of people who are lactose intolerant and this is a great source of nutrients and is easier to digest than milk. You can use it in your cereal and also in a nice healthy chocolate shake. You can also use a very similar recipe for any kind of nuts such as macadamia, pecans, walnuts. Sesame seeds are very high in calcium, so that’s a great one to use. Most of the nuts are going to be alkalizing and easy to digest, so these are great alternatives. I have water in my blender. You can use between 2 and 3 cups of water to 1 cup of nuts. Just pour the nuts into the water and blend this up. Keep in mind, I did soak these almonds for 24 hours to make them softer. I also have a high powered blender so that will process them a lot easier. You can tell when it’s blended enough because you won’t hear the chunks of almonds hitting the bag. You may find a couple of almond skins, but that’s ok too! I have a nut bag which is just a really fine mesh. You can find these on the internet or even the Home Depot and they are called a paint bag. They are much cheaper at stores like that. Please the mesh bag right over the bowl and pour the milk mixture in. Squeeze the liquid out a bit and the pulp will just stay right in the bag. The pulp is a little chunky, so that makes it easy to squeeze …

Yeah Rice milk isn’t bad either. I just don’t like that it’s so watery. Almond milk is another good option too, it’s a little sweeter.

Add some honey and vanilla extract, it’s awesome.. With all the gmo soy out there, this is a great alternative!
I just posted on your cranberry orange scone video too-but just wanted to caution again-you should NOT use paint strainers from home depot/any other home improvement store-they are industrial grade and can contain contaminants-chemicals/lead, etc! Please please buy only food grade mesh strainers! They are definitely more expensive-but they are food safe!
Wow, I didn’t realize it’s that easy to make almond milk! I love almond milk & buy it quite often. I can’t tolerate cow’s milk at all.
I suggest not going with the BlendTec, I’ve been blending for a LOOOONG time and went from Vitamix to BlendTec a few years back and hated it. Vitamix lasts, they have variable speeds and their customer service ROCKS.
For everyone asking, its a blendtec. I can’t tell you the specific model but that is who makes it.
