www.mum.edu As part of our commitments to a healthy student lifestyle and sustainable living, Maharishi University is the first US college to offer an all-organic, vegetarian, freshly prepared menu. Our dining hall serves a wide array of vegetarian fare, from home-style pizza to Chinese stir fry, from Mexican to Indian and more. We bake our own breads and pastries using organic flour. We use locally grown produce whenever possible, and our milk, yogurt, and ice cream come from a local organic dairy farm.Maharishi University of Management (MUM) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the arts, sciences, business, and humanities. The University is accredited through the doctoral level by the Higher Learning Commission. Founded in 1971 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the University features Consciousness-Based education to develop students’ inner potential. All students and faculty practice the Transcendental Meditation technique, which extensive published research has found boosts learning ability, improves brain functioning, and reduces stress. Maharishi University uses the block system, in which each student takes one course at a time. Students report they learn more without the stress of taking 4-5 courses at once. The University has a strong focus on sustainability and natural health, and serves organic vegetarian meals. The BS in Sustainable Living is MUM’s most popular undergraduate major. Radiance Dairy is very very good to their cows. The calves stay with their mothers until they are weaned, even though dairy production goes down during that time. And the older cows are put out to pasture. They also take very good care of the pastures, rotating the herd from one field to the other so it’s not over grazed.

  11. vitor1271 says:

What happen to the cows after they become unable to produce milk? What happen to the new born males? Do they become meat for consumers?

    I hope not!!!!

    YUCK.

  23. chintamanilila says:

Congrats on doing something veggie. So glad to see more support and education and exposure. Great job. You can get worcestershire sauce that is without fish or anchovies.

  24. jackssu says:

if you’re a vegetarian, unless you’re lacto-ovo, you wouldn’t put Worcestershire sauce in it because there are anchovies in it, and that’s fish, so it’s flesh. in fact even lacto-ovo veggies probably wouldn’t use it….
